The lovely damned_colonial has bought me a paid account at Dreamwidth. I think its great to support what they're trying to do, but I'm a bit confused about what advantage there is for me to maintain my paid account status. What do I get for my money? that I need?

I've never had a paid account at LJ. My account type there is old enough and basic enough that I've never had to worry about advertising on my journal. And anyway, I run adblocker, so I don't see ads anyway.

The only thing I missed at LJ was the ability to create feeds, and Dreamwidth includes that in its basic account. I don't use many icons, I don't think I need to subscribe to more than 1000 journals, or many of the other things I would gain from having more than a basic account. The only thing I'm slightly attracted by is polls. So here I go;

View Poll: #3134

comments
