Today's the day I hit aaaargh!

I hope I hit detached and effective soon, 'cos I have an awful lot of stuff to do and worry about and sitting on the couch gibbering gets in the way.

And my kids keep asking for help with their stuff

And Rose wants to help, a lot.

And there's all these extra ructions about availability of vans and places to camp and having enough room to camp.

And I went to VCAT today to do what I could to stop a really awful development in my street.

And this extra management stuff has worrying legal and business implications that I don't really have time to think about and investigate properly.

I've made a list.

I've crossed off one item, now to send some emails and cross off two more.

Oh, and my laptop decided to take its regular holiday, so I can't veg out on the couch while I organise my life (although the little orange light lit after I thumped it on my knee, so maybe it will work again soon)

I have kegged the Festival beer, with Rose's help.

Oh dear. Sending sympathy and wishes for that detached and effective mood to arrive and stay around long enough. I manage to get in that head space even without a family to assist. Oh and fingers crossed for the van outcome. and everything else.

Sigh. Helpful Rose. I had two helpful kittens, until I had only one because Tib decided to race out into the shared court and mew his heart out outside the upstairs flats, with a special focus on the flat owned by the person most likely to object to cats on the premises. Three times, before I could catch him. And then I caught him and brought him in and he seriously tried to EAT MY PINS. And I sewed up my surcote, but it needs side godets after all. I am going to call it a day and go to bed and hope tomorrow is better.

But we do now have one night's worth of salt pork and beef for the kosher option.

And I guess I nearly have a surcote. Minus the handsewing, of course.

As I understand it, the van just needs to have a once-over at the mechanics - I don't think you need to panic about that one just yet. And I'll call Ecks tomorrow if you want, and clarify that.

Besides, you've already got the other option sorted if you need to.

Mrs Brown needs booze badly.

I just keep thinking that in a few days we will all be there safe and sound and all this will no longer matter.

We'll be sitting around doing NOTHING. And relaxing. And laughing at our annual silly pre-festival crush. And hopefully getting a bit drunk.
