I love sitting up the front in court

I didn't need to sit in court last night, I just like it.

I like being reminded of how special it is to recognise people.  Their starry eyes and wide smiles are fabulous.

Actually, it was the most shocking part of our investiture.  Finding out how important it is to recognise people.  To give them that special time, just for them.

With all my exposure to the recommendation process, you'd think that I could follow my intellect and see the giving of awards as just a social engineering exercise.   A way to suck people in and keep them coming back for more, all on the say so of a small number of people.

I guess I'm just a sucker.  As I kneeled in front of their majesties, my eyes starred and my smile went wide.  And then I gladly received congratulations from my friends.

And then I told everyone about it.

Congratulations! And very well deserved. That's a lovely award medallion too - it's the award I always wished I'd got, even when it looked like a radiation symbol, but that's much nicer.

It was so awesome to be there. I was rapt.

I didn't know who was getting what awards until it was announced. And when you got called I nearly bounced. But that would be unlaaaady-like.
