I've played with a few patterns for nappy covers. the most successful are the ones I made using a pair of PVC plastic pants as a pattern, with PUL and FOE. The wool ones I made were also very successful, until Rose developed strong wee pressure and drank more.

She's grown out of them and I've been meaning to try something made out of polar fleece, so I've spent my early Saturday morning looking for patterns;

Nappy covers made from old jumpers:

I like this one because it has suggested sizes and enough detail that I think I could make them out of fleece too.

This could also be made from fleece and looks like the buttons could be use to make it fit tightly around the leg to stop leaks

Maybe these are what Rose should wear under her garb this winter

Does anyone have any dead/unfashionable jumpers for me to try this with?

The suggestion that I just trace around a nappy and add 1cm has merit too. Here are good instructions for the making of such covers

If I had more time/inclination, there are lots of patterns for knitting and crocheting them.

Anybody collecting nappy links includes this one, and she's on LJ. It has links to the three most famous nappy patterns.

These people seem to have the most sensible mail order nappy making supplies

and all my links started here - http://www.ozclothnappies.org

Of course, I've probably said all this before., and early in the morning too.
