When I was single I could spend a pleasant evening browsing the boys on an internet dating service.

Tonight I did it again for old times sake. I still don't believe the men who write that they like, "walking along the beach, open fires and red wine?"

Anyway, you need a purpose when surfing these sites and I'm happily married. So I looked on behalf of my friends (girls only, sorry [livejournal.com profile] vonstrassburg). They should check out Rockitscientist and timeshare. They seemed the best of the 80 odd I looked through. Am I on the right track?

Er, no definitely not and I guess not actively distressing but how the fuck could I tell from one of these stupid things.

Sorry. I had to read through gritted teeth and force myself to keep going. This is not a way I feel at all interested in getting to know people, and this is a gut reaction to the medium, not an intellectual one I can reason myself out of. If this is the game I don't wanna play.

I have no trouble with the medium and they both looked OK to me. Not perfect but certainly unobjectionable given the amount of info possible. Not sure about the one on one date idea but I would be happy to meet either of them at a party and see if they are at all nice. One of the things that got me thinking about usernames is that I didn't like either of these guys names. How much did they think about what the names said about them and so how likely are they to be actualy representitive of the people.

I am rambling, it must be late.
