Weekend update
Jun. 13th, 2004 01:42 pmI spent yesterday on the couch, recovering from my week.
except for the bits when I got my wiki working, went the the Japanese Baths and went to
splodgenoodles and
tenbears for dinner.
tenbears needs to be included in the Brussel Sprout dinner hall of fame for his brussel sprout au gratin, which uses only cream and cheese.
This morning's effort included buying computer parts to make a machine for my Dad. He wants to edit home movies onto DVD - so I put that in the too hard basket and will do more investigation. I will put that together after I have cleaned my desk and done a couple of hours work - pipe sizing and pressure calculations.
Of course, I also have to go and be a band widow at Fed square, where
mr_bassman is performing 2 songs as part of a South African celebration. Unfortunately, it's a paid gig, so I can't bring anyone with me.
I also want to get the calendar add-on working for my wiki - I want the kids and MTB and I to be able to update the kids movements online. We could just do it via yahoo, but this will be more fun.
Other plans for the w/e include Harry Potter, watching the kids perform with their drama group, renovating the house (yes, the whole thing!), and finishing a few books.
I forgot to mention - I went to see
gindi in a play on Friday night. Blood Wedding It was horrible to watch a sixteen year old girl attempt to catch the passion and grief of a woman who has lost her son and husband. I had a lot of trouble watching without giggling. It got better when G was on stage, it's amazing what mother goggles can do.
I think it was a bad play to get a bunch of teenagers to do, but I also realised that I feel uncomfortable watching my son and his peers being adults; moaning about grief and revenge, being in abusive relationships, dressing for weddings, being in 'lerv'. Yuk.
