Renovations grow
Aug. 30th, 2005 08:26 pmIt all started when I was puking into that awful, cracked, smelly toilet bowl - replace it! I vowed.
Of course, no plumber will work in my toilet unless the asbestos wall sheeting has been removed - remove it!
While the wall linings are off, we should put in a real laundry trough, and get rid of the concrete trough that you can't wash a baby in. We'll need a cabinet and benchtop to put them in... and we'll replace the taps...and the taps for the adjacent washing machine should match too.
Oh, the hot water service has an asbestos flue. We'll get the plumber to replace that while he's here.
You know, if we've got most of the wall linings off, we could replace the window and the rest of the wall linings.
We'll need a carpenter and a plumber for all of this work - why don't we get them to do the work we need done when we do the kitchen while they're here...
We could move the sink and fix the floor - we'll need a better floor for the baby to crawl on anyway.
You know, that hot water service is almost at the end of it's life - if we replaced it now we can put it in a better location and make more room in the laundry. It would be better to spend the money now rather than when it gives up and we are forced to, and perhaps don't have the money.
OK, now I've got quotes and costs for the new stuff we have to buy....OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!
Do we REALLY want to spend THAT much money?
Maybe we should just do something small...maybe we could just get the toilet replaced...
