Clunker of the day
Sep. 26th, 2005 08:58 amHomo sapiens fossilis came out of Asia during the Ice Age as Neanderthal man was dying out, and mastered stone and wood but did not discover metal. Oh, and there's a spelling mistake.
In other news;
Our laundry has a ceiling and the wall of plumbing has it's cement sheet. There are only 5 tasks left and then we can get the plumber back and make the laundry useable as a laundry. Of course, it won't be finished at that stage, but I should then be able to start the nesting process that includes finding what baby clothes I already have, what I need and sort out where to put them.
My first day of maternity leave has started well. Due to a sleep fuck up yesterday (I had an "'arvo nap" at 5pm and woke at 8.30pm) I woke at 6am, raring to go. So now I have an archive box so I can sort out my desk and hence my finances, and there is bread and milk in the house. That's right, I love shops that are open when I'm in my morning flush of enthusiasm.
The rest of the day will be spent restraining myself from doing too much walking, while trying to do all the things I've been putting on my list of "when I'm home full-time." The list includes;
Finding a clothes storage solution for T
Investigating the logistics of painting the laundry floor (one of the 5 tasks)
Procuring the fluorescent batten light for the laundry
Finding my desk
Sorting out my finances
Going to my pregnancy pilates class
Shopping for fruit and vegetables (hmmm, a trip to Brunswick - I can also go to the Mediterranean Supermarket, and the cheap furniture shop, also, girly bonding with T - a fine, if overly walking oriented, plan, because, of course, I'll also "drop in" to Spotlight and the oher 5 fabric shops nearby)
Lie on the couch and knit the leggings for the baby to wear at Festival next year.
There are a whole bunch more things, but I should leave something to do tomorrow :)
