A rich, full day
Feb. 5th, 2006 10:14 pmAfter last weekend, when I exhausted myself so much I took Monday off work to recover, I vowed I wasn't going to do stuff on both days of the weekend.
Hah!
Yesterday I went to the guild day, although we arrived late and left early, and today I went to Monthly bash.
The weather was lovely and there were lots of people there. But I feel like I didn't stop the whole time I was there. We arrived and immediately went into "setup the new sunshades" mode. Then I shoved in some food and water and dealt with Rose for a while. When I finally had her asleep I arrranged to get some people to sew leather grommets on the some more sunshades and sewed some myself. Then it was time to pack up.
Where was the time to lie on the ground, feel guilty about eating too much lunch and wish I had brought a craft project to do instead of just sit around and talk to people?
To cap my day off I headed out to Chez Cranham and sat around with people. Eating pizza, hot chips and icecreams was great. Even if it did contravene my new policy of avoiding doing too much on the weekend. My only regret was that I was holding a sleeping baby when
tenbears accosted
wystan and
erudito for a massage-off and I remembered that I really need some help with getting more than an 85degree head turn. My neck muscles are so stiff it's almost dangerous for me to ride my bike to work because I can't turn enough to check there are no cars behind me. I may have to part with some of my no money to deal with it.
And then I really capped off my day by sorting out what to do with my shiny new maternity payment of $3119. Unfortunately, it only paid bills and then I confirmed that the new earnings regime (ie me as sole breadwinner) is fine for living off, but it looks like we'll be paying off the credit card we've lived on for the past 4 months for the rest of our lives. Have to think about what to do about that.
