Boy am I frustrated. I'm trying to set up a wiki and I'm completely stuck. I've read all the documentation I can find - three or 4 wiki's worth of install and troubleshooting pages and 2 php books at home, but I just get garbage when I go to the install.php file in Mozilla.

I've installed wiki software in /var/www/html/$wiki. and on the advice of one page I changed a line in httpd.conf from AllowOverride None, to AllowOverride FileInfo. But that didn't work.

I also tried to look at phpinfo.php but I just get a blank page - the book says i should get a table of php config info.

I think it's because of permissions in httpd.conf, but I might be wrong. I'm sure that somewhere, I need to tell some file, that it should read or can read my wiki folder.

I also had a look at one of the php files in gallery, which works, and got garbage there too. Maybe it's something so simple that nobody bothers to write advice for it.

It's the simple things, and the process of writing out the question. Yay!!!

When opening the php files I was using file:/// I should have been using http:// What a moron!

It's all set up and I just have to go to http://abbotsford.sca.org.au/qwiki Yayyy!@!!

but it is bedtime now...
