I'm tired, but I pushed myself this arvo, so I feel a bit better than I was heading to when I was reading my book on a couch in front of the heater about 2 hours ago.

Last night I moved furniture out of my lounge room into my family room and vice versa. I wanted to get a start on the great house rearrangement plan (to have 4 bedrooms instead of 3 and a loungeroom) and I wanted a space large enough for the dinner party I had to sit around in the warm room.

Today I moved my desk BACK to the place it started. This way I am both closer to the 4 bedroom plan, and I can sit in front of the heater and surf. It's better this way. The good thing about moving my desk out and then in again is that the family room has now been vacuumed (a 6 monthly event) and my desk is clear. I love furniture as a means to a clean house. It feels so much more useful than just cleaning the house.

I had a chat with G, he is quite happy to use the pink loungeroom as his bedroom so now we just have to move the rest of my crap out of the lounge (mainly bookshelves, he's keeping the piano) and then, although I'm becoming unsure of this, we'll move G into the lounge room, Z into T's room and T into what is currently Z and G's room. I know it would be more efficient to leave T where she is, but she is more likely to enjoy the larger room, and Z is the youngest so only deserves a smaller room. Also, T regularly uses her room, so will feel more comfortable a bit further away from the action than Z.

Now, I'm going to set up linux on my desktop. This will force me to learn it a bit better, and may discourage the kids from dumping stuff I don't want on my computer. On the other hand, they may just learn linux - a win either way!
