Nah, not even if you're looking for sex really - because these guys aren't being upfront about it, from what they're saying they're playing mind games.

It doens't sound like fun for the women, to be honest.

If they think being friends with someone for 3 years is basically a waste of time (as opposed to a ...courtship, a romance, or a friendship that's worthwhile even if you never go further) they've got some serious problems.

Do you ever get the feeling that nothing has changed, nothing at all?

Same old bullshit as ever.

I'm reminded of the newspaper article I saw a few years ago, where this young woman and a bevy of her friends described their typical Friday night out ("wore the lucky undies tonight"). Although there was no sense of (ugh) professionalism to it, the ladies were basically just out for some quick secks.

And, if you strip away all of that gloss-arama, aren't we just living in the second post-pill generation? The pre-AIDS generation had it all good of course, but we're lead to believe these days that there's nothing either morally wrong or damaging to one's health about a one night stand given appropriate precautions? Has today's quick-fix society morally lobotomised us, with the complicity of what is shown on TV these days(*), to the extent that we will now happily pay $880 (I assume that's inc GST) for a weekend with the "wingman"?

It now occurs to me that I once paid more than that for a weekend for two at a tantric sex workshop, so I'll shut up and get back in my box now.

I'm utterly disgusted and realise once again, the mo described in the article has been used successfully on me. ugh.

Oh. Wow. Not being a big Hang-Out-In-Bars-And-Wait-To-Get-Hit-On kind of girl, I can safely say I've never seen this in action, but I do know people who've been "wingman-ed". Is it any bloody wonder young women are so cynical about relationships??

And don't even start me on the being friends with someone is a waste of time thing. No. Not going there. Grr.

Well, that'll learn me for LJ-cruising when I should be working, I guess!!
