My RDO

Today was one of those days when you say, "what did I get done today? But where has my day gone?"

Today, my physical achievements were as follows;

Took two children to the optometrist (with a side visit to the supermarket)
Met a guy who quoted for the removal of asbestos from my laundry
Went to the bank and sorted out some finances
Took a child to the orhtodontist
Dropped off my laptop to get fixed
Took another child and bought jeans and three bras.

That doesn't seem very much, and I don't have much to show for it, but my day is now gone. I'm tired, and I'm not up for much this evening.

Thinking about it a bit more, my emotional achievements went like this;

Had a good time with my children on bikes
Negotiated with a child about going to an unexpected orthodontist appointment instead of playing with a friend
Discussed the pros and cons of wearing orthodontic equipment while managing epilepsy, we went on to discuss managing the epilepsy some more.
Negotiated peak hour traffic
Persuaded 15 year old that it was worth being late to her party if it meant we didnt' have to make time for shopping again until next holidays
Hung around in a shop while three lovely women helped 15 year old to negotiate the embarassment of buying the right sized bras
Stayed firm and dropped 15 year old at the nearest train station, rather than drive to Preston at peak hour.

Now i'm off to lie on the couch and recuperate.
