Max is better.  He must be, he knows how to excape from being locked inside the house overnight, and has started catching mice and birds again.  Yuk!!!

I really enjoyed our holiday from cleaning up feathers, and feeling guilty about the birds he maimed and stepping on the remains of rat in the loungeroom.  I really didn't enjoy drowning the bird he maimed this morning.

When he was sick, I didn't enjoy having to make sure we closed the door to the box room so he didn't go and shit under the desk. Or cleaning up when it was accidently left open.  I didn't enjoy being extra vigilant in the morning to make sure he didn't piss on the clothes on the floor at the end of our bed.  And I hated not being able to leave the back door open during the day, or on hot nights.

I don't want to spend 2 weeks reminding myself that I need to organise a cattery between xmas and new year - and the worry associated with leaving it so late.

He's a lovely cat, very affectionate - except when he doesn't feel like being patted, when he bites you.  And I also hate the kneading he does for 10 minutes before settling down to sleep on you.

I don't want to own a cat.

I used the following web pages.

Super list of links and pictures - http://www.larsdatter.com/birgitta-caps.htm
In Swedish but includs diagram from the article that started it all - http://middelaldercentret.dk/Projekter/Tekstilprojekter/konehue.html
Good instructions on how the gatthering works - http://nestaverchwyn.livejournal.com/4278.html
Nice pic, with actual measurements (but I didn't use them, they seemed weird when I started measuring against the cap I own that I know fits sjkasabi) - http://research.fibergeek.com/category/garbclothing/16th-century-german/wulsthaube/
I thought about doing it the easy way - http://edythmiller.blogspot.com/2010/01/st-birgittas-coif-in-15-minutes.html
The blog of the person who wrote the article that started it - http://m-silkwork.blogspot.com/search?q=birgitta
The Marc Carlson entry for the cap - http://www.personal.utulsa.edu/~marc-carlson/cloth/birgcoif.html

I wrote this before christmas and will unlock it when I remember, after christmas.
