Sunday morning
Sep. 28th, 2003 09:11 amI have my kids at home now and can be a normal human being again.
I really surprised myself yesterday at how worried I was about them. I'd rung Michael's place several times during the week 'cos I thought they were due home on thursday and started ringing Michael at home, Michael's mobile and Michael's mum about 9am sat morn. I didn't think I was worried, I thought I just wanted to get my evening with them sorted out. Then I gave up and rand Dad to tell him that the ksds wouldn't be coming with us for tea, got off the phone and burst into tears.
We went to Michael's place then and I scouted around, interrogated the housemate and finally rang Michael's Dad (he'd left the number as an emergency contact). "Oh yeah, they left about an hour ago, Mike thinks the Princes Hwy is open again and they can get through" . I started ringing again at about 7 and Michael finally returned my call at 9.30.
Again, I surprised myself. I knew where they were, I knew they were safe, but I wasn't comfortable/happy until I had them at my place. When I picked them up Gindi couldn't work out why I was so insistent I have them overnight, but they were all happy to stay up until 11 talking.

Date: 2003-09-27 08:36 pm (UTC)Anything up for T's birthday? (Though I hope it's not tonight if so, I have just enough of a cold that it'll probably go away if I don't try to do anything much).
