If I really want to change over, I think I need to make more of a committment.

I think I'd like to unsubscribe from my LJ friends who also have dreamwidth accounts and just read them on dreamwidth.

But the comments are different.  And, unless I want to completely out myself wrt to Dreamwidth (especially to my mother!), maybe I don't want to tell people that the only place they can comment is here.

hmmm, what to do?

If you haven't already unsubbed from me on LJ, please go ahead.

Some people I know are handling the dupe-posters on LJ by making a reading filter for them, and going to check it from time to time to see if there are any comments of interest.

Btw, your journal style makes it hard to see the input field for comments and the "post comment" button. I had to really squint at it. Do you think you could add a border to them?

When I comment I get a white background on the comment box, and no borders between From, Subject and Message, which looks a bit odd. I don't have to squint but I did have to double check which field my cursor was in. YMMV

er, the buttons are shaded, so they are sort of clear.

Aha! I was just thinking I needed to post something similar myself, next time I got around to it. LIke you, my main reason for not just using DW where people have DW is that most of the comments still end up on the LJ version.

I like what [livejournal.com profile] fairestcat does - she has all her LJ cross posts no-comment, with a hyperlink at the bottom directing you to comment on the DW version. Presumably there's some nifty coding involved. I was planning to find out how to actually do it in a relatively automated fashion and then probably to DO IT.

I really do think that a) DW is more worth my support than LJ, and b) the interoperability they've built in should be given a chance to do its thing for those who do want to stick with LJ.
