2. Realize that you're paid to do what you're doing, not to turn it into an optional emotional tirade.

I like this suggestion - it has resonance.

In other news, perhaps related, I had the weirdest dream this morning.

1. in shower with co worker, sqeeze pimple on thigh and pus spurts everywhere, so much pus that when I'm finished I have a hole in my thigh 7cm diameter and 20cm thick (no my thighs aren't that thick, but that's how deep the hole looked, complete with grains of rice from dinner last night)

2. I go to work despite hole on thigh large enough to cause serious blood loss, because I have a project to get finished today. When I arrive the fog obscures the view, but I can just see the adjacent building. A helicopter comes into view, too close to other building. The wind blows helicopter into corner of building causing it to crumple. Despite getting away from building once, the wind again blows the helicopter in to the building and the helicopter crashes into the courtyard between our buildings. (It was weird when I really walking into my office this morning and saw fog out of the windows. I probably told too many people about this bit of my dream)

3. I finally admit that working while suffering the effects of blood loss is silly and call an ambulance. They arrive and strap me to a board and take me away.

4. Disjointed bit where I realise I have to sort out childcare at home and I escape from the ambulance while parked at the hospital. This involves climbing through round, children's playground, scaffoldy steelwork and walking past my workplace where someone is collecting helicopter debris, and it is raining and people are arriving in evening dress to get on a bus. All of this includes limping, with difficulty and in great pain.

5. I arrive home to James who I want to accompany me to hospital but he can't because he's looking after the child of my co worker (the one I had the shower with). We finally persuade G to take the (blond girl) child with him to school. (He won't take her until we have helped him to find his complete set of medieval dressups, including the grey knitted-with-wool chainmail shawl and painted wooden sword)

6. The ambulance arrives to take me to hospital with James. It is the same set of paramedics. It is dreadfully embarrassing.

The bold bits are the really vivid pictures from the dream, although the... storyline is very vivid too.

It's probably very related to the funk I've been in about the project I've been working on. I got it done today though, with a minimum of fuss.
