While Yarraville is only four train stops and nine kilometres from the CBD, Ms Baggio's need to drop the children off at two locations means she must drive. The trip can take up to 45 minutes.

Yarraville is only 1km square, even if school and kinder are at opposite ends, its still only a 10 minute bike ride, and then another 10min to the train station where the train takes 19min to get to Melbourne Central. 

This woman could be teaching her children good life habits, getting in some exercise and still get to work in less time than it currently takes her to drive.

Why do newpapers always interview people who are hopeless at public transport?

I bet she could drop the kids off and keep riding and still be quicker. Driving into town is stupidly slow.

yes, I thought of that but it looks twice as far as I have to ride.

I needed to allow her to be as lazy as me.

Fair enough. My other thought was she could drive the kids to their places, park at the station and still beat her drive time by a lot. 8->
