Wooden ropewoods from 16–22 Coppergate, York

This was in the Norman section of the York Archeological Trust's picture collection.

I think it means we have evidence for tent ropes with wood, instead of knots.

It does look that way. Do we want this? I don't much like using wood on tent ropes. I suppose there is less chance of them jamming in the rain.
