chirpier saturday
Jun. 26th, 2004 02:07 pmG and a friend are coming with us to the feast today.
G wants a new tunic, he is sick of his renaissance outfit, and wants to go 13thC.
I now have G and his friend sewing tunics together, (with an hour until we want to leave - what a great introduction to the SCA!) it's sort of cosy ( I don't know how to spell the dutch word
monstah) the boys are sort of chatting about the stuff 16 year old boys do while sewing and being surprised how easy it is.
But the best part of the day was when I tried to get a second sewing machine together for B to use. I opened out my treadle, and it became obvious that they weren't going to get it working in time. I pulled out my old sewing machine that I hate, and B tried to get that one going. It didn't work, I knew there was a reason I stopped using it. Then B made the leap that made my day.
He pulled the electric motor off my crap machine and turned my treadle machine into an electric one. It was really easy!! The treadle machine had a screw hole in exactly the right place to mount the electric motor, using the bracket from the electric machine.
I now have a dual boot sewing machine!
