Going to Sydney

I'm going to Sydney on 1 and 2 September - to a conference I wanted to go to and now don't have to ask anybody's permission for.

I haven't organised flights yet, is there anything/anybody I should see/do while I'm there? I can add extra days if I need to.

I have booked my flights so that I am only in sydney while at the conference.

I can change my flight (for a small points penalty) if you want, but wouldn't you rather fly to the Cocktail Party in Canberra in October?

Or fly to Festival?

I've not seen much of Sydney.
