I got a phone call this afternoon, asking if I'd taken the cat away for the day..

The kids saw him this morning, in T's room. Then they went out and then came home again.

We've carried food around the house hoping he'd smell it. We've looked in all the cupboards and common sleeping spots - he's not inside the house.

I've knocked on the doors of the immediate neighbors and I've just gotten back from putting up notices around the neighborhood - I figured it was better to get the word out sooner than later.

He _is_ microchipped and tattoo'ed, but that's not much use unless someone calls the council or the local vet.

Oh dear, I hope that he turns up.

If it makes you worry less, my grandparents once lost their cat for 4 days. Turned out that she was in one of the kitchen cupboards, and my grandmother was extremely deaf, so she couldn't hear the frantic miaowing, and my grandfather had had a stroke, so he didn't do into the kitchen much. We'd been out calling and checking in ditches for days, and the poor cat was in the cupboard the whole time.

Have you checked under the house? or the roof cavity? or asked neighbours if he could be under their house or in a shed?

Thinking max come home thoughts....

true it is they can be cheeky monkeys, our cats. a past family cat chose to go a'wandering for a full week before turning up at 4am one morning howling her head off for food just when we thought there was no chance of her coming back. i hope the same turns out to be so for max the adventurer. it's great he's microchipped - i'm sure he's loved and personable and i think most people would twig he belongs with someone and will call the shire or like. if he's lost or confused he'll approach someone, they can be trusting like that. most likely he's found a really good spot and is watching you wondering why you're so stressed, he knows exactly where he is! at least i hope so. fingers crossed for his speedy return.

cats are fickle things. i have a female cat, very old and is named angel. she left and didnt return for 1 week. all ai care is that she did. keep ur hopes up. cats are smarter than we sometimes want to accredit them with.

Sounds frightening. Hope little Max turns up soon. I do think most people who found a cat wandering would try to find out who he belonged to, so with luck the microchip will do the trick.

love
