You are one of life’s enjoyers, determined to get the most you can out of your brief spell on Earth. Probably what first attracted you to atheism was the prospect of liberation from the Ten commandments, few of which are compatible with a life of pleasure. Sometimes you might be tempted to allow your own pleasures to take precedence over your ethics. But everyone is striving for that elusive balance between the good and the happy life. You’d probably open another bottle and say there’s no contest.

Trying to work out if I want to go to Ballarat for the afternoon. I'm not keen because it's a picnic next to Lake Wendouree and the forecast is for occasional showers and a temperature of 16.

I'm not sure I can be bothered with the worry of keeping a small baby warm enough in that environment also, there is a whole bunch of stuff to do at home (you already know about that list) which I quite possibly won't get done anyway.

I want to go because it's an SCA picnic and I'm wanting to keep a reasonable profile for political reasons, besides, those people are fun, I could wear my houppelande and show off my baby. I need to decide soon - it starts at 12.30am.

Picnicking at Lake Wendouree is unwise any time the temperature anywhere else is below 25 degrees. Even then you might want to bring a jacket along. I've experienced Winters in New York and London and still I think neither compared to the miserable chill of Ballaraat on an overcast Spring day.
