Peacock Boy* has been ignoring this problem for a "couple of weeks, hoping it would go away" So now I'm putting my friends list onto it.

He is receiving his Queen's Scout Badge tomorrow, at a special presentation. As part of the ceremony he has to give his parents and scout leader a suitable, commemorative gift. And he has no idea what to give us.

I suggested the casserole dish I wished for last week would be a good commemorative gift for me, I could think of him everytime I brown meat for a casserole. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to afford it.

What, oh friends list, should he give me to commemorate what a fantastic parent I am?

*formerly known as G, recently labelled Mr Peacock, but that feels too grownup tonight.

Ok, is this one gift you all get to share or is this one gift each? I think he needs to earn his magic gift giving badge next :)

one gift each.

I guess if his parents were still "married" he could get away with just one for the parents and one for the scout leader.

Tough.

i recon he should hand make cards, and some paper cranes. :)

yep. a gift from the heart, that's 'easy', 'cheap' and meaningless, but still achievable.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh - Craft, is there nothing you can't fix?

He should give you the gift of cooking you and MrB a three course romantic candlelit dinner of your choosing. After all, he's going to have a lot of time on his hands for a while. And you should, if you want to be evil, then choose a dinner which would have been easier to cook with a good casserole dish ;-)

Wow - I didn't have to do that when I got my Queen's Scout. Has there been a conspiracy among leaders and parents since my time, or is this a Victorian thing?
