While telling Mum about how we've decided that one of our new found financial freedoms is affording to travel to Christchurch, she offered us her frequent flyer points.
I may yet regret this* but I've just booked the trip to Christchurch for the 3 of us for the princely sum of $275. I'll book our return flight after Mum's flown to Chile - Saturday or Sunday.
I guess it's ironic that an international jetsetter like my Mum has no wish to use any of the points she's accrued on travel for herself. Oh well, too bad :)
* The bit I might regret is that the only flights available were on flights operated by Jetstar. As
mr_bassman said, "it's only 3 hours" to which I reply, "with a toddler"

That's really cool... I'd love to go but it's truely off the list of possibles at the moment. Plus I could have gotten cheap accom through my hotel chain, oh well.

Date: 2007-03-16 12:10 am (UTC)Miss P travelled fairly well except that the decent into Christchurch was quite steep. We were feeding her on the way down, but it really didn't help much and there were 5 babies who spontaneously all at the same time started screaming. It was the worst part of the flight, coming back was definately much easier.
