Had a lovely chat with a (male) colleague about this article. Nice to chat about feminist stuff at work and feel that what I'm saying isn't too radical for the listener.
The memorable part of the Sydney/
vonstrassburg party weekend was hurting my back. I've had two days off work and was feeling like a bit of a fraud yesterday until I moved the wrong way last night and hurt it all over again. I really wanted to stay home again today but didn't. I'm gradually getting more movement and, after my physio appointment this arvo, it's stopped hurting all the time. Soon I'll get J to take the supporting tape off my back.
I left my keys at home today and had to wait for J to come home from work to let me in. I spent the time contemplating the state of the back section of my house. It's falling apart. I MUST ring the architect and just bite the bullet and spend a large sum of money fixing it.
I am feeling exhausted, but I tried sleeping and I can't manage it. I'll just have to study for my exam on Friday.

Date: 2004-06-23 03:47 am (UTC)Good luck with it. Do you need moral studying support?
And *hugs* for the back. Sorry it's being so horrible.
the exam
Date: 2004-06-23 04:36 am (UTC)The exam is crap and hard to study for - from talking to others it requires memorising facts from the manual. Facts you are more likely to just look up if you ever need to know them.
I was recently asked to provide input to the organisation responsible. I really let loose about their teaching techniques and suggested an open book exam would be more appropriate. Unfortunately, any changes will be too late to benefit me. :(
On a side note, the home page of the green building council profiles the "environmentalist of the year". A 34 year old, who must have started work not long before I did, at the same company I worked for. Bastard!!
