I'm not a cow!!!
Dec. 11th, 2004 10:46 amI have diagnosed myself as having handhand-foot-mouth disease.
My kids had it when they were small and I've now read the internet.
I have the little blisters beside my big toe, on my tongue and lips, and on the roof of my mouth. I also have itchy spots on my hands.
Today I have a slight sore throat.
Does anyone else I know have these symptoms?

Date: 2004-12-11 12:07 am (UTC)One time, a bunch of my friends all got some rather odd symptoms at the same time: peeling skin on the pads of our fingers, and sore tip of our tongues as if we'd burnt it drinking something hot. It took someone with a chronic immune system problem to actually pay attention and mention it one day, whereupon we all realised that we had the same thing. For her it was a bigger deal, for the rest of us, we just assumed we hadn't noticed burning our tongues and attributed the skin peelies to randomness, dry skin, or something.

Date: 2004-12-11 12:54 pm (UTC)to follow that to its logical conclusion, it's obvious all females always menstruate at exactly the same time, and as such it's not synchonicity but the natural order of things. it's probably to do with the gravitational pull of the moon or something. or else a subliminal ploy by libra to make their profit-and-loss statements look better at the start of each month. bastards.

Date: 2004-12-11 12:36 am (UTC)It is the right time of year for it, but I don't remember being in contact with a child of the right age in the preceding week.
It's a contact and droplet thing - as easy as catching a cold.

Date: 2004-12-11 04:46 am (UTC)Mind you, a lot of viruses get mentioned in relation to the onset of ME, and mine happened after the common cold and a bout of sinusitis, which had no special name whatsoever.
Nonetheless, please do me a favour and don't be too stoic about it. No one ever died from taking it easy for a couple of days. :-)

Date: 2004-12-11 06:42 am (UTC)She is looking a bit sleepy I'll allow, but I was planning to tart this icon up with a quote from another B7 episode ("some days are better than others") and have it as my not-feeling-well and shitty-day icon. She is looking like that cos she's had a long day, plus been bashed up by Travis, and now an overlarge dose of truth drug has just been added to the mix.

I think you should definitely add the quote.
Now, I hope you read my comment to MrsB about this virus you probably all have and will be good and sensible, yes?
I actually have a mild gastric thing this weekend but it appears to just be nausea and a mild case of the runs.
