When I was president of school council, I never paid voluntary school fees. Then again, I never wrote that letter to the government asking for sufficient funding for the school so it didn't need a voluntary levy.

Date: 2005-01-26 02:49 am (UTC)Some schools have various ways of cutting the cost for parents. e.g. having a very basic school uniform, such as a polo shirt and black/navy pants, which means that they can buy it at Target or kmart. Having class sets of textbooks, and students pay a deposit for the books, which they get back when they return them at the end of the year (or the school keeps the deposit for the next years books).
